Heinrich has extensive experience as a legislative drafter working for over a decade directly with policy leaders and being tasked with translating policies into legislative text as part of South Africa’s national government. He is the primary and co-drafter of several key Bills, regulations and other legislative instruments for the national government.

Lastly, He is currently a Council Member for the Commonwealth's Association of Legislative Counsel, as the African Region's representative.

He holds a Masters of Law degree (Environmental Law) from the University of Cape Town, Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the Western Cape and a Certificate in Legislative Drafting (with distinction) from the University of Johannesburg.
