Sam Layton is the Principal Knowledge Officer at CIJ. He brings over a decade of experience across communications, journalism, and speechwriting, working with organisations and senior leaders to communicate complex policy, legal, and technical issues with clarity and impact. Sam joins CIJ from Seven Hills BPI, where he served as a senior writer supporting executives on high-level communications. Prior to that, he was speechwriter to the CEO of the UK National Cyber Security Centre and, earlier, to the President and Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, where he focused on business and policy matters.

Sam began his career after completing a Graduate Diploma in Law, followed by training as a journalist with the Press Association.
