Martina Gasana Umutoni is a Legal Consultant at the Chandler Institute of Justice, based in Kigali, Rwanda. She is an international lawyer with experience advising governments and institutions on complex transactions, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable development initiatives. Prior to joining CIJ, she served as a Legal Negotiator and Transactions Advisor at the Rwanda Development Board, where she worked on high-impact public and private sector projects across energy, infrastructure, technology, public-private partnerships, and foreign investment. Martina has advised on landmark initiatives including vaccine manufacturing, clean energy projects, data protection legislation, and international commercial partnerships. She holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School and an LL.B. (First Class Honors) from Cardiff University, with expertise spanning international investment law, regulatory systems, and sustainable development.
